NEON!!!! Everyone who grew up in the 80's thought for sure they would never see the vibrant palette of fluorescent shades of yellow, orange, pink, and, green again. Oh..were they wrong!! Could they be any brighter? Skinny jeans, handbags, wallets, shoes, and yes, even makeup! The most "Electric Avenue" pinks and oranges pop on lips for the Spring 2012 season paired with a nude eyeshadow make for an amazing entrance to any event. The subtle shades of nudes on the lips enhance the unique hues of sheer purple and violet blue for the lids. Don't be shy! Expression. What do you feel today? What do you wish to represent? I realize how so many of us get stuck in the routine of everyday living. Wake up, get dressed, go to work, come home, go to bed, start over the next day, and we completely forget to take time to be who we really are. Some days the best medicine is just change. Instead of the daily grind of basic living, take a moment to recreate yourself and enjoy being you! The simplest way to exude change is by showing it on your face. How about a switch from the same shade of lipstick to a glossy vibrant color for once? Or a dark sultry stain for the deep rooted inner you waiting to emerge? Think about it. We change our hair styles and color, we change our clothes, but how many of us use the same colors every single day over and over to display the most seen part of our bodies...our face? Change can be scary to some because the first question that comes to mind is, "How will it look?" Who wants to take a leap just to fall flat, right? Wedding season is once again upon us! All of the most spectacular dresses, flowers, and decorations for the most special time of your life. One of the most admired accessories for your wedding day is your face. All eyes on you and so it should be!

For my brides, I really suggest starting early to get prepared for this wonderful day. Don't wait until the last minute to get a facial, wax those eyebrows, or try a new skincare product. That can be a disaster waiting to happen! Make sure you give yourself a few weeks to a month to be sure your skin doesn't have any reactions to new products you may want to try and give your skin at least a week to calm down from any redness waxing may cause. As stressful as your wedding preparations can be, it's so important to start sooner than later to get your skin glowing. Drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine as it can cause dehydration and make your skin lack that radiance you should have when the cameras start clicking. Most of all, get a lot of sleep! Set some well deserved resting time for yourself away from the constant ringing of the phone from wedding planners, bakers, and whoever else may be interrupting your beauty sleep. I am so excited to get these photos up on here. This chilly Saturday morning proved to be a pallette for some flirty and fun photos! This shoot was so much fun and a great way to let my creativity flow to portray a classic "Pin-Up" boudoir session. I love this type of stylized shoot because it allows me to press the edge to recreate some well-known idolized looks with my own twist. I have some finished looks of Alicia. I am so happy to finally have the oportunity to work with Carmen, a fabulous photographer, from Sacramento. She really captures the essence of the era with such ease and originality.
